solo blogging

So although my side of the family has a group blog, albeit rarely used, I decided to keep using this blog I'd originally started way back when. Since we've actually got some big things happening in the future of our usually boring little lives, I thought I should record it somewhere. And though I do love to scrapbook, I've gotten burnt out and will try my hand at this. I can say already that this takes much less time than my hours of scrapbooking.

The big thing in our future is preparing for our first baby, due on October 20th. We found out about a month ago that it's a boy. Huge surprise, considering all Spencer's family seems to make is males. But I am excited for a little boy. I told Spencer that I'm giving him a son, so he can buy me a daughter. At the rate their family makes boys, we might have to buy a girl! Pregnancy has been pretty good for me so far. I had a little nauseau but nothing near what so many others I know have suffered through. I outgrew my favorite jeans entirely too soon I think, but it was bound to happen eventually, right? It is sad to watch your waist disappear into an oblivion of a belly, but it's also been kind of fun to actually look and feel pregnant. Though I must say, I don't know if I'll ever get used to the constant stomach-rubbing from random people.

We've had fun putting together ideas for the nursery and planning projects to be done before the baby gets here. Spencer loves all that decorating, designing, building stuff so he's had more ideas than I have really.

In preparation for the little dude, we are getting the entire interior of the house painted. When we bought this house, we had the builder paint the interior so that we wouldn't be surrounded by solid white walls. But, they used FLAT paint. Flat paint is the worst! It's impossible to clean and scuffs up so easy. So we are getting rid of all the flat paint and having some more colorful hues added to our walls in a highly durable and washable eggshell finish. I am really excited to have the house painted for some reason. Maybe it's because we don't have to move furniture, tape edges, cover floors or even stir a can of paint and in a few days it'll be like a new house inside!

Once it is painted, I'll have to update this thing with pictures. Cause doesn't everyone care what color my dining room is??
